Helping Hands at San Luis Valley Behevioral Health Group

What is offered at the SLV Behavioral Health Group.

Services provided by the Center are very broad to address the needs of our adult and child/ adolescent consumers. Services may include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, case management, school-based services, adventure/ outdoor programs, psychological evaluations, and public education. In addition, mental health services and consultation are offered to childcare centers and Head Start programs. These services are provided throughout the San Luis Valley in Center offices, homes, schools, and other settings in the community. We provide comprehensive geriatric mental health services to nursing facilities, including consultation, treatment, support of nursing staff, and OBRA evaluations. In alignment with national trends, we have taken proactive steps to integrate mental health services into medical settings.

When you add in life stressors from family, mental illness, or school related pressures, there are many reasons that students may need someone to talk to. San Luis Valley Behavioral Health Group has the resources to work with kids of all ages. We have three School Based Mental Health Specialists that visit 27 schools within the San Luis Valley on a weekly basis. Group Therapy

Everyone should have a safe and affordable place to live. For individuals with mental illness, housing is an essential component of recovery. Research shows a person with stable housing is more likely to be engaged in their treatment and recovery process and less likely to use costly hospital and crisis response services

In a continuing effort to evaluate what housing options work best for our client population, SLVHBG offers two housing programs:

The Sex Offender Treatment Program provides state-certified evaluation and treatment to persons identified by the 12th Judicial District or DSS as being sexual offenders. This program works collaboratively with victims, family members, and allied agencies to ensure community safety.
